The U.S. women led from start to finish where they revealed their much speculated about nickname: the Final Five, in honor of Martha Karolyi’s final Olympic team.

The U.S. Olympic Team for women’s gymnastics made history today by winning the USA’s second consecutive Olympic team title at the 2016 Olympic Games at the Rio Olympic Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

After winning the Olympic team gold medal, the U.S. women’s gymnastics team has let everyone else in on the secret: their nickname is the ‘Final Five.’

Fueled by the disappointment of missing out on an all-around medal in London, Aly Raisman began her comeback in late 2013 determined to erase that painful memory.

The U.S. men never gave up – fighting off early rotation jitters that left them near the bottom of the standing – to finish fifth during today’s men’s Olympic team final.

From start to finish, the U.S. women were nearly flawless and showed the dominance that has carried them to the last three World team titles and Olympic gold in 2012.
